Re: Why Meghalaya PSC has Prelims and Mains exams for Lower Division Assistant recruitment?
Yes, the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts both Preliminary and Main Exams for the recruitment of Lower Division Assistants. The reason for conducting two stages of the examination is to ensure that the candidates are well-prepared and have a good understanding of the subjects covered in the exam.
The Preliminary Exam is usually an objective type exam that tests the candidate's general knowledge, English language proficiency, and basic computer knowledge. This exam serves as a screening test, and only the candidates who qualify for the Prelims are allowed to appear for the Main Exam. The Main Exam is a comprehensive exam that tests the candidate's knowledge and understanding of the subjects covered in the syllabus. The Main Exam typically consists of a written exam, a practical test, and an interview. The written exam comprises various sections, such as General English, General Knowledge, and Arithmetic. By conducting a two-stage examination, the MPSC ensures that only the most qualified and deserving candidates are selected for the position of Lower Division Assistant. It also allows the commission to assess the candidate's knowledge and skills in a more comprehensive manner. |
