I have got B.A. Degree from Osmania University. I have completed my Graduation around 23 years ago. Now I want to know whether I am eligible for becoming a Government Assistant Teacher?

You have completed B.A degree from Osmania University so you are eligible for Government Assistant Teacher though TET exam.

Two types of exam is conducted by TET:-

Primary stage(For becoming teachers from class I to V).
Elementary stage(For becoming teachers from class VI to VIII).

If you have completed 12th or its equivalent exam from recognized board with above 50% marks then you are eligible for Primary stage TET exam.

If you have completed graduation degree from a recognized university then you are eligible for Elementary stage TET exam.

There is no age criteria for TET exam.

Yes, you can eligible for Government Assistant exam.

To become a Government Assistant you have option is TET.
TET - Teacher's Eligibility Test

TET is necessary to qualify for candidates wishing to get job in government schools.

TET has become mandatory in all the states now. Every state conducts it own TET exam.

Eligibility for TET exam

Candidate should have done graduation from recognized university.

B.Ed. degree is mandatory for TET.
And after the 12th also TET state exam is there for teaching the primary schools.
For this exam graduation is not required.

Syllabus of TET

There are 5 subjects, having multiple choice questions, in this exam -

1. Child Development and pedagogy

2. Language I

3. Language II

4. Mathematics

5. Environmental Studies

The exam will be of 150 marks and will be for 90 Minutes.

To qualify TET, candidate should achieve 60% marks .
