Sir,
I have completed my M.A. in Urdu
5 years ago and got 54.5%.
Now I am a teacher in a Private school.
I want to do PhD in Urdu now.
So, now I am eligible?

The minimum requirement for Ph.D admission is Master's degree in relevant discipline with 55% marks from a recognized University. It doesn't matter if you have done your degree 5 years ago if you fulfill the minimum criteria as there is no age limit specified for Ph.D admission in India.

For reserved category candidates there is 50% marks requirement for Ph.D admission after relaxation if marks. Therefore, if you are not a reserved category candidate then you can't apply for Ph.D admission now but if you complete M.Phil you will become eligible for Ph.D program. For M.Phil 50% marks is required in Master's degree.

You have completed M.A degree with 54.5% marks so you are not eligible for Ph.D course.

Eligibility criteria for Ph.D course:-

If you have completed masters degree with above 55% marks from a recognized university then you are eligible for Ph.D course.

There is no age criteria.
