Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
Quote:
A graduation degree course is usually a 3 to 4 years long course conferred by a UGC recognized university. A polytechnic is a short term course, lasting 3 years, and is not necessarily given by a university. According to industry professionals, a graduation degree holder is preferred over a polytechnic holder in the same field. |

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
No, Polytechnic course is not equivalent to Graduation course. The major differences between Polytechnic and Graduation courses is listed below.
--> The minimum educational qualification required to pursue Polytechnic course is completion of 10th standard from a recognised State/ Central board whereas the minimum educational qualification required to pursue Graduation course is completion of 12th standard or equivalent from a recognised board.. --> Polytechnic course is of 3 years duration after completion of 10th standard whereas Graduation course is of 3 to 4 years duration after completion of 12th standard. --> The Bachelor's degree course which can be done after completion of Polytechnic course is an Under Graduate course. --> The course which can be done after completion of Bachelor's degree course is a Post Graduate course. |

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
No, Polytechnic course is not at all equivalent to Graduation Course. Generally Polytechnic course or Diploma course is called as an "Undergraduate" course which is also not equal to Graduation course. Graduation is called when candidates purse their educational qualification in either 10+2+3 pattern or 10+2+4 pattern. Whereas, Diploma (10+3) course can be done directly after 10th class. So 10+2+3/ 10+2+4 pattern Graduation is not equivalent to 10+3 pattern undergraduate course. To be eligible for most of the government jobs, the basic educational qualification required is "Graduation" or Bachelor degree in 10+2+3 pattern or 10+2+4 pattern from a recognized university.

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
No, Polytechnic course is not equal to graduation degree course. It is course which is not certified by any university. But graduation is certified by recognized universities.
If you want to complete the graduation it will take up 3 to 4 years and if you want to complete the polytechnic it will take up hardly 3 years. If you have graduation you have lot of choices to apply jobs. Compare with degree if you have polytechnic then you can only apply for certain jobs which you are eligible, and you can’t eligible for most of the jobs. And most of the company’s preferred gradates only not Polytechnic students. |

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
Polytechnic course is not considered as a graduation.
Graduation is different from polytechnic course. It is 3 (or) 4 yrs of course which is recognized by the universities. And polytechnic is consider as a under graduation course not consider as graduation. After the completion of polytechnic course you have a chance to complete the graduation. |

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
According to the UGC, the diploma is a course of 3 years that can be done after 10th.
Graduation is a course with the scheme of 10+2+3 whereas a Diploma from a polytechnic is of the scheme 10+3. So, a diploma is not at all equivalent to a graduation degree. However, it is equivalent to 12th. |

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
Polytechnic or Diploma is one level below Graduation, but,in most cases, considered to be one level above Intermediate or 12th.
Polytechnic can be done after 10th which makes it a 10+3 year course. Although many Candidates take admission after 12th,but minimum or basic requirement is 10th pass. Graduation is done after Polytechnic or 12th, thereby making it a 10+2+3 OR 10+3+3 year course. In some cases, graduation is 4year course like Engineering, Architecture, Technology and some other courses as well. Diploma or Polytechnic is below Graduation. |

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
Dear Friend,
No, Polytechnic is not equal to graduation. Poletechnic comes under diploma course and graduation comes under degree course. For diploma course you also can go after 10th but for graduation you should habe to qualified 12th. After diploma candidates can go for lateral entery course for graduation. Regards, Sandhya |

Re: Is polytechnic course equal to graduation course?
No Polytechnical course is not equivalent to the degree or graduation course. It is only a diploma course. For diploma course, you can apply after 10th class but for the graduation, you have to apply for this after 12th class. so this is the difference between the diploma and degree course.
If you want to apply for the graduation or degree course then you can get admission in the 2nd year through lateral entry. Diploma holder will get this benefit for the degree course. After that, you can apply for the job in many companies which are related to your course and there you will get good salary. There are so many courses in B.Tech but you can opt that course in which you have done the Polytechnical course. |
