Hi,

I am planning for Architecture in future. But i am confused a lot about choosing stream in 11th. I am not at all interested in science but its been told to me that taking commerce will not help me in architecture.

Please reply as soon as possible.

You only need maths at 12th level for architecture admission. Therefore, you can choose any one stream commerce with maths or science with maths. There is no problem with either of them as far as eligibility is concerned.

Science will be a better field if you want architecture as a profession but as you said you don't like science. Therefore, you can choose which ever stream you like now.

** To become Architecture you can choose any stream from Science and Commerce but Maths is compulsory subject so take Maths with any stream.

** As per my knowledge in order to become an architect, one must pursue 12th with Science stream(physics, Chemistry, Maths)

If you are interested in Architect field than you should go for Science stream ( Nonmedical) in 11th class.

I would like to suggest you that don't go for that stream in which you are not interested because it will create problem to you in learning the things.

Choice is yours.

If you want to do bachelor's degree in architecture then you must choose science stream in 10+2 otherwise you will not be eligible for the entrance examination of Bachelor of architecture courses.

Commerce candidates are not eligible for B.Arch. Commerce stream will help you in courses like Chartered Accountancy.

Science stream is interesting, try to take interest in subjects like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

To pursue a career in architecture you should opt for science stream. Some of the colleges do accept commmerce with maths students too but for some basic eligbility is only PCM. Its pretty good field and has great scope. Nowadays universities are coming with great specialisations in this field like B.plan, M.plan courses with in specializations like Urban & Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, Transportation Planning etc. With so many govt projects coming like Smart cities where professionals will be needed from such fields ,such specialsations are gettin popularity in architechture sector. There are very good colleges available for Planning programs like UPES school of planning and architecture, Sushant school of planning and architecture Gurgaon, CCA chandigarh.

As per new regulation made for student who are intersted in B.Arch. or any other architectural course youhave to pass minimum 50% with PCM group and also valid score in NATA entrance exam to take admision for architectre course in colleges all over india.
Minimum Standards of Architectural courses as per regulations made on 2015, by the CoA, will come into effect from the academic year of 2018 all over India.
so ,for students need to choose their field properly right after 10th to avoid confusion in future. Candidate who wish to take admission in architecture should choose science only.
