In order to apply for internship in IIT, at first you have to write an application regarding the internship. Then you have to get a recommendation letter from the training and placement cell of your college and send it with the application to the authorities of IIT. If they finds you eligible then you will be called for interview followed by the selection process after which you can start your training.
