If you fulfill below given criteria, then you are eligible for Ph.D in Mathematics.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree in Mathematics from a recognized university with above 55% marks are eligible for Ph.D course.

There are no age criteria.

You must have valid GATE/CSIR NET score card.

Well, those who completed their Master Degree with 55% of marks are eligible to apply for PhD in Mathematics. Since, you didn't mention about your qualification so its difficult to tell that you are eligible for PhD in Mathematics or not. However, please, refer the eligibility criteria below,

Basically there are following eligibility requirement:-

1) The applicant must be Master degree holder with at least 55% aggregate in any discipline from a recognized university and final year applicants also eligible to apply.

2) Those who belonging to reserved category must score at least 50% of marks at Master degree course.

3) There is no age limit needed for PhD course.

Yes, definitely you are eligible to opt for Ph.D in Mathematics after scoring 55% of marks in your Post Graduation.
