First of all you need to qualify exams like NET/SET/GATE/JRF if you want to study Ph.D in quantum mechanics. B.Tech in mechanical engineering candidates are definitely eligible for research in quantum mechanics.
Admission will be on the basis of written exam and interview conducted by the concerned university or institute.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
