Is CSIR exam necessary for PhD in Agricultural Science? Where to apply for it?


Sir, I am studying M.Sc Agricultural Science course and after it want to do PhD in Agricultural Science. Please tell me will I have to pass CSIR exam for it? Where to apply for it?

For admission in Ph.D CSIR exam is not mandatory for any stream. It is just an academic qualification, which is preferred by most of the reputed universities. Those who have it, are preferred over other candidates.

Hence, you can get admission without it, but chances will be lesser at top universities and institutes.

Yes, CSIR is necessary for a candidate who is willing to do PhD in Agricultural Science.
Those candidates, who passed master's degree in Agricultural Science with a minimum of 55% marks from any recognized university are eligible to do PhD in the relevant discipline and can apply for CSIR entrance examination.
