Re: Is entrance exam compulsory for doing Ph.D History in correspondence mode?
Yes, definitely Entrance examination is compulsory for doing Ph.D course in a respective subject. Candidates interested to apply for the Ph.D course, must have to qualify in the Entrance Examination in order to be eligible for the said course through correspondence also. There is no such provision of pursuing Ph.D without Entrance Examination.

Yes, it is necessary to appear for the entrance exam to pursue PhD history in correspondence mode until and unless you have completed your M.Phil degree or have an experience of 5 years in the field you are applying to pursue PhD. The entrance exam like GATE/JRF/NET/SET you have appear and have to pass in order to pursue PhD in correspondence mode.
