| Possibility to do PhD in Fine Arts/Folklore without NET for a candidate who has secured 54.125% in M.A.?
			
			Sir /Madam I am Chaitali Biswas. I live in Kolkata. I have completed my graduation course in ceramic sculpture arts from govt. of art collage with 61.25% marks . I also finished my M.A course in folklore From Kalyani University having 54.125% marks. So I want to know can I appeared for phd course in folklore or fine arts? Can i qualify for net exam for doing lecturership. I Know that as per ugc rules the minimum 55% number required For net Exam. But how can apply phd without net.. Please inform me the list of collages in west bengal. Chaitali Biswas |

			No, you are not eligible for Ph.D course because your masters degree marks is below 55%. Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for Ph.D course. General and OBC candidates should 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its hold 50% and above in masters degree. Your age should be below 28 years. You are not eligible for UGC NET exam also because UGC NET exam required 55% marks in masters degree from recognized university. |

			I am qualified in UGC NER JRF in Telugu literature am I eligible to pursue PhD in folklore.?
