Sir, I am doing M.Sc Geology and after it willing to do PhD from University of Punjab. Please send me procedure to get admission? Important dates for it?

If you want to Ph.D geology in university of Punjab, then minimum qualification required to apply is MS/M.Phill or equivalent qualification from government recognized institute with minimum 55% marks obtained, Relaxation of 5% marks for reserve category candidates as per government rules.

- Important dates regarding admission procedure for 2017 session is already done and for 2018 session is yet to be release. Mainly notification regarding admission for Ph.D geology in university of Punjab releases in month of june and july every year.

- Admission criteria for Ph.D geology in university of Punjab depends upon performance in Entry test, Academic qualification, Interview, Experience, Publication.

There are two papers in entry test namely Paper I and Paper II.

• Paper I carries 50 questions and carries 50 marks that is one mark for every correct answer and there is no negative marking. All question in Paper I are of objective type multiple choice. Duration Paper I is 60 minutes.
  
• Paper II carries 10 questions and must have to attempt ant 5 questions. All the questions in Paper II are of subjective type and maximum marks for paper II are of objective type and carries 50 marks that is 10 marks for each correct answer. Duration of Paper II is 2 hours.

In order to pursue PhD in Geology, you should have completed your master's degree with minimum 55% to 60% marks from a recognized university. The university conducts an entrance examination to select the eligible candidates. You can directly visit the official website of the university and get the application form. Or you can visit their campus and get the details of the admission procedure. The selection will depend upon the performance in the examination.

The application forms were available from 1/06/2017 and the last date to submit the forms was 21/06/2017. The examination was conducted on 9/07/2017 and the declaration of result was on 19/07/2017

Procedure to get admission in PhD in Geology course at University of Punjab:

Basically there is a certain educational qualification required to be eligible for getting admission into PhD in Geology course. You must have completed Master's Degree in order to be eligible with minimum 55% marks.

The duration of PhD in Geology at University of Punjab is 3 years and seats are subjected to the availability.

You are required to appear in entrance examination conducted by Punjab University for getting admission into Doctoral Program. On the other side, you are required to appear in UGC NET/ CSIR NET Entrance Examinations in order to be eligible.

>> Date of availability of Phd Admissions in 2017 - In June, 2017

>> Date of Conduct of Entrance Exam - In July, 2017

>> Declaration of result - In July 2017

Hence based on the above dates, it is expected that notification will be released in the month of May 2018.
