Similarities between CSIR JRF and UGC NET? Can a Mechanical engineer do Ph.D after clearing any one exam?


Hello sir, I am studying in final year of Mechanical engineering and want to apply for competitive exams. What is the similarities between CSIR JRF and UGC NET? Can I do Ph.D after clearing any one exam?

CSIR and UGC are two different Government departments which conducts their NET entrance examination.
Both of the above mentioned examinations are held twice a year in the month of June and December.
CSIR is conducted for the Science stream while UGC is conducted for all the streams.
I am happy to tell you that definitely you can do Ph.D after qualifying in the above mentioned examinations. Once a candidate is qualified in the entrance test, can definitely apply for Ph.D course.
