In order become a Lecturer or Professor then you need to first appear and qualify in the UGC NET exam conducted by the University Grands Commission. You can also become a Lecturer by completing a PhD course.

National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) twice every year one in June and other December every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian Citizen having Master Degree in concerned specialization with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidate) from a recognized University. There is no upper age limit for those applying for Lectureship but those applying for JRF should be not above 28 years of age.

Any candidate who wants to become lecturer in any subject in government college must clear the National Eligibility test conducted by the University Grants Commission. The eligibility criteria for the lectureship post is that candidate must have done master's degree in respective discipline from a recognized university.

There is no upper age limit for the lectureship post. Minimum of 55% in master's degree is needed for the candidates of general category and 5% relaxation to candidates of reserved category in marks.

It is conducted in June and December every year. You can apply for the exam once notification is released by the UGC. Official website is www.ugc.ac.in.

You must have post graduation in maths to become eligible for lecturer job in any college. For government lecturer post you have to qualify exams like NET/SET. Hence, make sure you have got at least 55% marks in post graduation.

In private colleges you can apply for lecturer post without NET/SET score but you have to crack interview. Salary is based on your experience.
