Is MBA necessary for the post of PO in private banks?
I have heard that MBA is needed for the post of PO in private banks. Is it true?

No,MBA is not necessary for the post of PO in private banks .
Eligibility criteria to apply for the post of PO in private banks are as under :- -The candidate age should be in between 21 years to 26 years of age . -The candidate must have passed graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate . -The candidate must have knowledge in Computer Operations/Languages and must have proficiency in English language . The selection process involves of * Written Exam , * Group Discussion ,and * Interview . |

PO stands for Probationary Officer. This post is available in private as well as in govt banks too.
**As in Private or in govt bank, there is no need to have a MBA degree required for getting eligible for post of PO. The minimum eligibility for the Post of PO is student must possess a graduation degree at the time of filling the application form. The Max age limit is 30 years. Relaxation will be given to SC, ST and OBC candidates. **As you know the final stage of selection process is interview. So if you have a MBA degree then definitely you will be an advantage in the interview process too. |

Private banks have their own way of recruiting POs and they mainly ask for graduates and then train them for the given post. In ICICI bank there is a special program for graduates for managerial posts. Those who complete it with distinction are recruited by the bank.
Therefore, if you have MBA then it might help you get job in a leading private bank surely but make sure you do your studies from a leading institute. |

No, MBA is not required if you want to become Bank PO.
But if you have done MBA, then it might help you in promotion after you join as Bank PO. IBPS conducts bank po exam. You just need to have graduate degree to be eligible for this exam. After you clear this exam, you will have interview round in different banks. Bank PO exam will have questions on general ability, general awareness, English comprehension and Maths. |
