Respected Sir/Mam, I am arjula sowmika studying mechanical engineering at present. Can I apply for marine engineering job? I am interested at that field but had a small doubt will there be girls who apply or being working here? please kindly clear my confusion sir/madam.

Yes, you can apply for jobs in Marine field, provided you should have a year degree in Marine mechanical engineering field.

After completion of your Mechanical Engineering course, you will have to pursue a one year marine course in mechanical branch and after clearing the course, you can very much apply for job in Marie Engineering jobs.

There is a separate specialized field named marine engineering already available. So to start your career in marine engineering at your present situation the best option is to go for a post graduate diploma in marine engineering field after completing your mechanical engineering.

About girls applying in this field there is very less number of. Mainly due to the time shift it requires during the journey. But if you are getting job in shipyard then it will be fine.

It depends on the job profile and you may get a job in a marine engineering company, but chances are very rare. Normally, those who have got B.Tech marine engineering are preferred for such jobs.

Therefore, you can try for such jobs but only in rare cases selection is possible.
