After completing 12th examination you are not eligible to apply for IPS Examination. To apply for IPS you need to completed your bachelor's degree and you need to crack the Civil Service Examination which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year.

There is no minimum marks required to apply for IPS Examination. Any graduate candidate can apply for that examination. But Degree course is mandatory while applying for IPS. Age should have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st August of the year of examination. Relaxation is applicable as per Government Norms. Those who are appearing in the final year of degree course may also eligible apply to apply. So after completing degree course you are definitely eligible to apply for Indian Police Service Examination.

There is nothing specific about the degree in which you need to be graduated. You can choose any stream of education of your interest and get graduated in it to be eligible for applying for the IPS Exam.

The IPS exam is one of the Civil services exam and this exam conducted by UPSC and is held every year. You cannot apply for the IPS Exam after completing +2, because you are not satisfying the needed education qualification needed for the exam.

The needed educational qualification is completed degree from a recognized university and it can be in any stream. There are also other criteria's which are also needed to be satisfied along with the educational qualification such as:

• Nationality
• Age limit
• Physical standard

To be a part of IPS ,one has to fulfill its requirements which includes:-
1) age limit:-21-30 years ( relaxation age bar for categores as per government norms)
2) educational qualification:- any bachelor degree or master degree
- final year students can also appear for the same.
3) subjects required:- any specialization
4)% needed:- no bar,candidate has to clear each subjects with no backlog.
5) must be resident of india
6) medicaly fine

This exam is conducts by upsc every year in two section. They are:-
a) CSAT:- civil service aptitude test
b) civil service main exam conducts for qualified candidate.

After 12th class you can not eligible to apply IPS exam.

Chest :–

Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight :- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye.

Number of Attempts:-

General category candidates - 4 time

OBC category Candidates - 7 time

SC/ST category candidates - No limit.


Selection procedure :-

- Preliminary entrance exam

- Main entrance exam

- Interview

The candidates those who have completed bachelor's degree from any branch,either degree or engineering are eligible for IPS.
Indian police service recruitments are done throught the exam conducted by UPSC.
The minimum eligibility for UPSC is graduation. And age limit 21 to 30 years.

Recently I passed 12th class by maths with 87.4% and I belong to poor family I wanted to be an ips officer then what should I do please tell as soon as possible

It is not possible to become an IPS Officer right after completing 12th standard! In order to become an IPS Officer, you must apply for CSE exam conducted by the UPSC. You must also crack the exam preliminary, mains and interview in order to get selected for the training.
