I have completed my 12th PCB and further want to join IMA. I want to know the eligibility requirement and procedure in order to join IMA. Kindly, reply a soon as possible as I want to know the details soon.

IMA stands for Indian Military academy.

To enter into IMA one has two options.

* Candidate can enter into IMA by appearing National defence academy (NDA) examination after completion of class 12 examination.

* Candidate can enter into IMA by appearing Combined defence service (CDS) examination after completion of graduation.

The minimum criteria to apply for NDA examination is that the candidate must have passed class 12 examination in any stream from a recognized board of education.

The minimum criteria to apply for CDS examination is that the candidate must have passed degree in any of the stream from a recognized university.

You are eligible to apply for NDA examination.

The last date to apply for NDA examination is on 15-07-2016.

You need to complete Graduation and that also with maths or physics as one of the subject then only you will become eligible for IMA through CDS Exam which is conducted by UPSC.

On the basis of 12th PCB you can only appear for NDA exam which will only help you to join NDA for Indian Army.

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy and to join the same you will have to clear CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) examination. Also for appearing in the same examination you will need to first clear complete your graduation degree course.

But if you are interested to join Indian defense sector being a Class 12th passed student then you can join it through NDA.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and for joining the same you will have to clear NDA entrance examination which is held twice every year by UPSC. Also it comprises of two stages namely Written examination and SSB ( Service Selection Board ) interview respectively.

--> For appearing in the same examination, the minimum qualifications which you must possess are as here under :-

* You must be an unmarried Indian male candidate with your age lying with 16.5 years to 19.5 years.

* You must have completed your higher secondary school degree course with any stream from a recognized board.

* You must be physically fit as per the service requirement norms.

To join Indian Army after completion of your 12th standard, you must have to appear in NDA examination which is conducted by UPSC twice a year. Eligibility criteria required to appear in NDA examination is mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. You must be in between 16 1/2 to 19 1/2 years of age.

3. You must have completed 12th standard or equivalent from a recognised board.

4. You must be an Unmarried Male candidate

5. You must be Physically fit as per physical standards mentioned in the UPSC NDA examination notification.

By qualifying the NDA written examination, you will be invited to participate in further rounds, if you perform well in all rounds of the NDA examination, you will be selected into Indian Army.

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy. To join in Indian Military Academy, you must have to appear in CDS examination which requires the minimum educational qualification of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a Government recognised university.

Being a 12th standard student, you can join in Indian Army through NDA examination. NDA stands for National Defence Academy. NDA examination is conducted twice a year by UPSC for candidates who are interested to join in Indian Army, Navy or Air Force.

Eligibility Criteria :-
To be eligible to appear in NDA examination, you must have to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below :-

>> You must be an Indian Citizen.

>> You should be more than 16.5 years of age and should be less than 19.5 years of age.

>> You must have passed 12th standard or equivalent in any discipline from a Government recognised board.

>> You must be an Unmarried Male candidate.

>> You must be Physically fit in terms of height, weight and sight.
