Hello! I am Ayush studying in class 10th . My aim is to be an astronaut and work in NASA or ISRO . I have many ideas, theory related to space. It is my dream to work at NASA or ISRO . I have to do something of space exploration . But nobody is here to guide to how to go in this career. Please help me by telling which are the courses, exams etc. I have a very good awareness and imagination about space and i want to make my career in it. Please tell me. To join ISRO or NASA, you first have to complete your class 12th in Science stream from a recognized Board with merit marks in it.
After that you must have to complete your degree course in Engineering or in Physical Sciences.
After the completion of Bachelors degree course, opt for Masters degree in Astronomy or Space Science and then opt for the Ph.D course in the same. You can then apply for the research team in NASA or ISRO to enhance your career in the space field.

In India, you will have to start focusing on your career once you pass 10th grade. One should choose Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects in 12th.

After you are done with 12th grade and you have gotten good grades, you need to focus on a good Bachelors degree from a recognized university. One could choose a course in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, or Aerospace Engineering.

To be able to get a post graduation degree and a doctorate, you need to do well in your undergraduate degree. Post graduation and doctorate will basically be specialization in your stream.

After you are done with graduation, you can sit for the exam, which is held by NASA for the recruitment of scientists and astronauts. Or in order to join ISRO one needs to clear the Joint Entrance Exam which is held by the IITs.

And in order to be a mission specialist, you will need 3 years of related and responsible experience.

You should study PCM stream in class 12th to become eligible for any course related to engineering, maths, physics, astrophysics, etc, to have any chance of getting selected at any space agency.

ISRO recruits engineers every year for scientist post. Selection is purely based on written exam and interview. You can join NASA only on the basis if merit. Hence, make sure whatever you study, you should be excellent in it.

Minimum qualification required to join ISRO:

Aspirants must have Indian citizenship.

Aspirants must have completed either a diploma course or Bachelor of Technology degree from any recognised university in India.

Aspirants should score at least 60% marks in the B.Tech degree.

Age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

After passing your BTech you can also appear in a the GATE examination because GATE score is also given much importance by the ISRO to select candidates.

Educational Qualification:

You should have a four year bachelor engineering degree / master degree in specified engineering stream.

Your degree should be approved from the AICTE and your degree should be from a regular Institution.

Your minimum marks should be 65% through all the semesters in engineering or Masters course in science.

Minimum age should not be less than 18 and maximum should not exceed 42 years.

So being a 10th pass you are not eligible to join ISRO because you have to qualify first of all 12th and then your graduation and then Masters course as per your interest and after that you will be eligible for the written exam and if you qualify the written exam of ISRO then you will be eligible to appear for the personal interview and accordingly you will be selected.
