As per the government rules only 3 consecutive attempts are allowed to appear in Joint Entrance Examinations Mains and Advanced after passing 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subject with minimum 50% marks and 45% for reserved categories from recognised board.

IIT JEE offers only 3 attempts to candidates irrespective of the education board. There is no special privileges given on the basis of education board.

Just make sure that your daughter scores more than 50% marks in class XII with PCM stream to become eligible for this exam.

Admission to Indian Institute of Technology is given on basis of Joint Entrance Exam marks and rank. JEE is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.

Number of attempts:

1. For JEE Main, there are three consecutive attempts.

2. For JEE Advanced, there are two consecutive attempts, one in 10+2 board exam year and next year after it.

Number of attempts for Joint Entrance Exam different stages are:

*Suppose a candidate appears for 10+2 board exam in 2016 then:

He/she can apply for JEE Main exam for three times in 2016, 2017, 2018.

For JEE Advanced, he/she will be eligible in 2016 and 2017 only. Thus for IIT admission, there are two attempts only.

As per the IIT JEE rules any candidate who has 12th qualification can appear in the JEE exam. But you ca appear in the JEE 2016 exam only in following conditions :
* Either you are appearing in the 12th class in current year.
* Or you have passed 12th in 2015 or 2014.

You have maximum three consecutive chance to appear in the JEE exam.

The maximum number of attempts allowed to appear in JEE Main examination is three times that too in three consecutive years after completion of your 12th standard. And the maximum number of attempts allowed to appear in JEE Advanced examination is two times that too in two consecutive years after completion of your 12th standard. Since, your daughter is pursuing 12th standard right now, she have three chances to appear in JEE Main and two chances to appear in JEE Advanced examination.

IIT JEE examination is conducted in two stages as Main and Advance. Main stage is conducted by CBSE while Advance by IIT.

The maximum number of attempts to appear for Main examination is 3 while there is only two attempts for Advance stage.

So, you are eligible to appear for JEE examination next year as First attempt.
