I have got 10,715 rank in JEE Advance 2014. Can i get any IIT at this rank. I have got 15,063 rank in JEE Main 2014. I have few Query

1.Should i prefer branch or college?
2.Should i prefer good branch in NIT or some new IIT?
3.I am fresher , should i drop this year or take best option which i get.
4.Should i take Production or Chemical at NIT,Allahabad?
5.Is 5 year Dual Course good or not?

1. Should I prefer branch or college?

- First priority should be your college and second should be your branch. This is because you can switch over to your preferred branch in the second year of engineering and the college tag is very important for exposure and future opportunities.

2. Should I prefer good branch in NIT or some new IIT?

- You should prefer NIT over some new IIT especially if you are getting the top NITs. Otherwise IIT should be your preference.

3.I am fresher , should i drop this year or take best option which i get.

- Time is money. You should make use of the best option now rather than wasting one precious year of your life. If the options are not at all good or you want to go for the best institutions and determined enough, then you can drop.

4.Should i take Production or Chemical at NIT,Allahabad?

- You should take the branch of engineering as per your interest and comfort. There is scope in every branch provided you are comfortable in it and excel in it.

5.Is 5 year Dual Course good or not?

- It is better to go for 4 years course rather than 5 years. This is because most of the companies do not prefer 5 year dual degree courses.

I have got 38440 rank in Jeemains. Based on my rank, I have got NIT Agartala Electonics & Communication Engineering . But I think this is not a very good college. Should I join NIT Agartala or drop one year.
