Yes you are eligible for banking exams, IBPS only ask for minimum graduation with percentage above 50%. And there is no problem if you are doing corresponding degree because that is totally approved by UGC and that had to be accepted by all govt. institutions.

To be eligible for applying for Government bank jobs you are required to meet the below Eligibility Criteria for sure otherwise you may not apply for this Government bank recruitments. You have done B.Com in Correspondence mode and secured 55% marks, remember you are eligible to apply for Government job recruitments only when your university/ institute in which you have done B.Com must be recognized by state or central government authorities. I would also like to tell you that there is no certain minimum age is required to be eligible for applying for Government Bank jobs. For Instance, to be eligible for IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk recruitment, the basic educational qualification required is "Candidates must have PASSED their Graduation or Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized university". So I can say that you are eligible only when your institute/ college is recognized by State government or Central Government.

Definitely you can apply for Bank jobs having 55% of marks in B.com with Correspondence. But you have to fulfills some other requirements to apply for various government banks.

In India if you want to join in Public sector banks ( Government Banks ) then you need to complete graduation from the recognized University.

As you said you have completed graduation with correspondence still you are eligible to apply for Public sector banks. But your College/university must be recognized.

Eligibility to apply for Government Banks :

1.You should complete graduation from the recognized University and there is No requirement of percentage criteria.

2.Age should be in between 20 to 28 years for IBPS Clerk and 21 to 28 years for SBI Clerk.

3.You can also apply for PO's in different banks through IBPS and SBI.

4.Final year candidates can also eligible to apply but they have to submit the required documents at the time of Interview.

Thus if you fulfill the above requirements then you are eligible to apply for government banks.
