There is no restriction on optional subject selection. Candidates are free to select any subject as optional subject for Civil Services examination. You are eligible to select medical science as optional subject in Indian Administrative Services examination.

Other requirements for Civil Services examination is:

Academic qualification: Bachelor's degree or final year candidates can apply for this examination.

Age limit: 21-32 years.

OBC and SC/ST candidates have three years and five years age relaxation.

Yes, you can chose the medical science as your optional subject. You will be asked questions from there only & if you reach to the interview, then will be asked questions from that only. So, think before choosing your subjects. First prepare yourself for the preliminary test.

You have completed M.Sc degree in Applied Nutrition. So you can choose paramedical science subject as an optional subject for IAS exam.

Those candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized University are eligible for IAS exam.

Your age should be in between 21 to 32 years.

No. of Attempts:

For General: 5
For OBC: 9
For SC/ST: No Restriction
