I got 30/100 in GATE 2011 in ME. Will i eligible for government colleges ? What is the expected score and percentile for me ? Please give me some suggestion ?

dear friend this year may be cut-off of mech. engg. is above 30.because this year mech. paper is easy that's why you can't decide how much percentile is this year and you got government college.

GATE exams had just conducted yesterday only. Results will come on March 15th, 2011.
But the key have already came. If you are sure about your result, I am sure you will get some good government colleges.
In GATE exam, If you get 25, then possibility is high for getting good colleges. But its difficult to get IIT with this score.

get cut off varied year to year .

last year cut off was 25 for general candidate.

so this year we can expected cut off will be +-25.

Doesnt matter how easy the paper was, cut-off will not rise beyond 28-29 ......as last year it was 25 and this time as the paper was easy so high scorers are scoring much highers but low scorers are still lying low only........
and those who score 29 marks will get more than 93-94 %ile and a rank of less than 4000......
and admission can be pursued in any good rec or NIT upto 97 %ile in good branch....but for IITs one should have more than 97 %ile......... i.e a rank of 1500 and above.

Its around 25 and maximum 28,almost for every branch,cutoff will never reach 35 dude.It cannot touch 35 I can bet.
