Default Re: Difference between CAT and GMAT?

CAT stands for Common Admission Test and GMAT stands for Graduate Management Admission Test. The differences between CAT and GMAT examinations are mentioned below :-

1. The Common Aptitude Test (CAT) is an entrance exam which is conducted for admission in management studies in Indian Institute of Management and other Indian institutes. The Graduate Management Admission Test on the other hand is an entrance test for admission in management institutes across the world.

2. In GMAT, there are no fixed sectional cut offs, though you cannot overlook one section completely. In CAT, there are sectional cut offs decided by the colleges.

3. Another difference between GMAT and CAT is that, in GMAT there is penalty for not answering a question. As opposed to this in CAT, attempting all the questions is not a good strategy as there are negative markings for each incorrect answer.

4. The GMAT score is valid for a period of five years and the CAT score is valid for a period of one year.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
