GRE exam is used to assess the ability of a candidate in both Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning.It is conducted for 340 marks. Every candidate, who attends the exam will be given 260 marks initially. And the exam will be conducted for remaining 80 marks. Depending upon your GRE score, universities will make you a decision on your admission.

Exam Pattern:-
The GRE exam is conducted in three sections

Section I:-
1) Verbal Reasoning
i) Reading Comprehension
ii) Text Completion
iii) Sentence Equivalence

Section II:-
1) Quantitative Reasoning

Section III:-
1) Analytical Writing Assessment
i) Issue-Task essay
ii )Argument-Task essays

There are no qualifying in GRE exam, because it is not a competitive exam. It is just used to assess candidate ability in both Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections. So, even a candidate, who got 1 or 2 marks is considered as qualified.
