Re: What is the difference between GRE, TOEFL and IELTS?
GRE, TOEFL and IELTS are the entrance exams which are required to be qualified by a candidate to pursue higher studies abroad especially countries like USA and Canada. There are differences between the three and one need not give the all three exams to get admission in the foreign universities for higher studies.
GRE is basically aptitude test wherein verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical skills are tested. Even subject GRE exams are there wherein the subject knowledge is tested. It is essential to have GRE score to get admission in the foreign universities. IELTS and TOEFL are the exams which test the English of the students of foreign countries because after admission the student has to live and study in a English speaking country. TOEFL tests either American or British English as per the choice of the candidate whereas IELTS tests only British English. For European countries, IELTS is preferred by the universities. |
