No, IELTS is not sufficient for getting admission in MS course in USA. To get admission in MS course in USA, you need to appear for both IELTS and GRE examination. GRE is nothing but a Graduate Record Examination and the examination will be based on your graduation degree course syllabus. IELTS, it is an English Proficiency test which helps you to prove your English Proficiency. You must appear for both IELTS and GRE examination for getting admission in MS course in USA and most of the universities will first ask the GRE score at the time of admission process. The validity of GRE score is 5 years and the validity of IELTS score is 2 years.

For Post Graduate studies in USA, you need to appear for GRE also with for IELTS or TOEFL score. Therefore, only IELTS score is not enough to get admission in any MS programme in USA.

For MS programme, you should have a Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university, then only you can apply for GRE.

Hence, be prepared for the GRE and try to get a decent score in it, so that you don't face any problem during admission.
