Why Medical Council of India conducts Screening Test for MBBS/BDS candidate who has studying in Abroad?

Hello,
I have heard that Medical Council of India, MCI has been introduced Screening Test for those candidates who are doing MBBS/BDS in Abroad. My question is, after coming back to India from Abroad and after doing MBBS/BDS why I have to give this Screening Test? why it is necessary?

Default Re: Why Medical Council of India conducts Screening Test for MBBS/BDS candidate who has studying in Abroad?

There are various reasons behind the screening test.

- The health standard of all the countries are not same.
- The curriculum and course of studies of MBBS course is not the same everywhere.
- There are many institutes spread across the globe who offer MBBS courses and many are not good at it.
- Hence to check whether your knowledge is at par with the Indian health standards and whether it is safe to give you license of practice, screening test is conducted. It also keeps a check in the Indian health industry ensuring good professionals entering it after course from abroad.
