The recently set up Gujarat Technological University is increasing in popularity and demand day by day.  It is adapting itself to the new technologies and has made a huge impact in the Engineering history. To start up with technology one has to keep knowledge of the main science subjects which includes Chemistry. The first semester chemistry paper deals with the environment part and deals with the metals, cements, lubricants, water technology and some related topics.

About the exam:

The paper is divided into three sections each containing short questions. The first section containing ten questions of two marks each is compulsory. The Second and the third sections have several questions merged in a single question. Both the sections have four questions of eight marks each and at least two questions are to be written from each section but total five questions are to be answered from both the sections. Thus for the fifth question the student can choose from either of the section.

Total Marks and time allotted

The paper is of sixty marks for which a maximum of three hours is provided. There are several Engineering Chemistry books available by different authors for reference.
