SAARC Disaster Management Center was established in the year 2006 at New Delhi. The centre was set up in the premises of National Institute of Disaster Management located in New Delhi. The eight member countries of South Asia Association of Regional Cooperation i.e. SAARC are being served by the centre. The centre provides policy advice and other services for effective disaster risk reduction and management in South Asia. The centre also conducts research activities and training programmes for the disaster risk reduction. Dr. Satendra is the Director of SAARC Disaster Management Center.

Job Profile:

SAARC Disaster Management Center is looking forward to recruit eligible and qualified candidates on the following vacant positions of Head, Specialists, Administrative Officer, Senior Accounts Officer and Research Assistant. The posts of Head are available in the divisions of Hydro Meterological, Knowledge Manegement and Biological & Other Manmade Disasters. The posts of Specialists are available in the divisions of hydro Meteriological Disasters, Biological & other Man Made Disasters and Geological Disaster.

1. Recruitment of Head:

Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 55 years as on 1 January 2012.
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess Ph.D. degree in the concerned discipline from a recognized university. Candidates should have a consistent good academic record. Minimum 10 years experience in the relevant field is also required.

2. Recruitment of Specialist:
No. of posts: Only 5 posts are available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 55 years as on 1 January 2012.Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have a consistent academic record with Post Graduation degree in relevant disciplines (Hydrology, Meterology or Atmospheric Science etc) from a recognized university. Minimum five years experience is also needed in addition to the academic qualification.

3. Recruitment of Administrative Officer:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 55 years as on 1 January 2012.
Educational Qualification: Graduation degree from a recognized institute or university with minimum five years experience of working as Administrative Officer.

4. Recruitment of Senior Accounts Officer:

Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 55 years as on 1 January 2012.
Educational Qualification: Graduation degree from a recognized institute or university with minimum five years experience of working as Accounts Officer.

5. Recruitment of Research Assistant:

Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 55 years as on 1 January 2012.
Educational Qualification: Post Graduation degree in Earth/ Atmospheric/ Environmental/ Social Science from a recognized institute or university. Candidates should also possess research experience in relevant field with working knowledge of processing digital data.
