Bank Probationary Officer, How to become a Bank Probationary Officer?
Probationary Officers is required to do a wide variety of banking functions such as loans, current accounts, saving , foreign exchange etc. In order to achieve this position, they have to undergo the selection process.
Qualifying Exam
A written test will be conducted for the recruitment of Probationary Officers by Banks. It will be both a Descriptive and Objective type exam. The objective type examination is of 2 hours and the Descriptive type exam, a test of knowledge in English, is of an hour. The objective type questions consist of Test of Reasoning, Analysis of Data and Interpreting, Marketing knowledge and a Test of English Language. On clearing the written test the candidates will be required to appear for an interview.
Who is eligible to apply?
Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in 10+2 and 55% or above in Graduation or P G while at the same time students who belong to the SC/ST/PWD categories must secure 55% or more marks in 10+2 and 50% or above in Graduation or PG. Their age should be in between 21 and 30 years. It is relaxable by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen etc.
How to prepare for exam and interview
As the Bank test will consist of Objective and Descriptive type questions, it is important for the candidate to have a general knowledge about current affairs, reasoning skills, numerical ability and a fine knowledge of English. For the objective exams, candidates can prepare themselves by attending coaching classes, or can study by themselves. The second part of the written exam is the descriptive one. The students have the option to try three out of four questions. For this they need to have excellent knowledge about current affairs and develop good essay writing skills. Those candidates who have been selected will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. This is conducted mainly in order to test the communication skills and leadership qualities of the aspirants.

I am 25 year old. i completed my BA degree with 53.5%(as a private candidate from government college Ajmer affiliated to MDS University Ajmer) , 12th with52% and 10th with 66% is am eligible to bank po and bank clerical post i am interested in sbi and 19 public sector banks. i am also taking exams conducted by ibps. i am worried about my degree because it is not as regular student.
