Indian Forest Service is one of the most elite civil service branches in the nation, and a very large number of candidates aspire to attain the post, but before doing so, candidates have to appear in the entrance exam and one of the optional papers is Zoology (Paper I).

Divisions of the papers:

There are two section in the papers, namely Section A and Section B.

Paper Pattern:

The first section carries a maximum of four questions, with the first question compulsory to attempt. There are five sub-part of the question, and candidates have to answer any four in about one hundred and fifty words. There are also four questions in the section B, and candidates have to compulsorily attempt the first question. The patterns of the question as well as marks distribution are same as the first question of Section A. Candidates have to attempt any three of the remaining six questions, with at least one question from each of the section. All of the remaining six questions are Long answer based.

Markings:

The total marks of the paper is three hundred, the sub-question of the first main question in both of the section carries ten marks. The remaining six main long answer based question carries forty marks.

Time allotted for examination:

The total time duration of the exam is two hours.
