JMET or Joint Management Entrance test is a national level admission test which is for those students of engineering who are interested in management studies. In general, paper is designed for IIT s & IIS. Students getting through this test are eligible to get admission in post-graduate management program of IITs. This is a paper which is for admission in premier technical institute, so no. of candidates is very large.

Qualification for appearing in this exam:

Candidates applying for the entrance test must have a 6.5 GPA out of 10 or average of 60% in their engineering degree or Master of Science degree from a recognised University or institute. However there is a relaxation for the reservation category students in these criteria. Students of final year are also eligible for the paper.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

Questions are of equal marks and each question is with option. There is a provision of negative marking, 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.

Mode of Exam:

Paper is of conventional type, answers should be given in OMR sheet and there is need of HB pencil to darkening the correct answers in the OMR sheet.

Format:

Paper is of subjective type, also there are questions of unseen passages and grammar.

Paper Pattern:

Paper of Verbal Communication is a conventional paper needed to be solved on OMR sheet. Questions are of subjective type. There are 30 questions and each question carries same marks, answers are chosen to get the full marks as this is an objective paper and full marks can be obtained in this paper.

Marking:

In total, there are 30-40 marks for this paper depending on the number of questions asked. If the number of questions is 30, full marks will be 30 and if it 40, verbal communications will carry 40 marks. Each question carries 1 mark.

Schedule:

The paper has to be finished as quickly as possible so that a student can switch on to other papers.
