Joint Management Entrance Test is an entrance test conducted for admission to post graduate programmes in management. Indian Institute of Science and Schools of management of IIT’s use the score of this exam for admissions. The exam is conducted in the month of December every year. Candidates can apply to multiple programmes that match with their eligibility. The exam tests the candidates’ knowledge in English usage, Quantitative aptitude, Data interpretation and Logical reasoning.

  • Master of Management
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) with focus on Tele-communication Systems Management
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) with focus on Systems Management

Eligibility

Graduates having 60% marks in aggregate, in any branch of Engineering/ Architecture Technology/ Pharmacy/ Agricultural Engineering can apply. Candidates with post graduation degree in any branch of Physics/ Mathematics/ Computer Application/ Statistics/ Environmental Science/ Electronic Science/ Chemistry/Operations Research/ Computational Information Science/ Commerce/ Economics/ Agriculture are eligible to apply. Final year candidates can also apply for the entrance test.

Examination Details

Joint Management Entrance Test will have multiple choice questions. There will be 120 questions. The duration of the test is 3 hours. One can expect questions from

  • Verbal communication
  • Logical reasoning
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Data Interpretation.

Each section carries 30 questions. Each correct answer carries one mark. There will be negative marking of .25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates have to obtain specific cut offs in each section to qualify the exam.

Application Procedure

Application forms to Joint Management Entrance Test should be submitted online. The application fee is Rs. 350/- for reserved category candidates and Rs.750/- for all others. Application form can be obtained from the official website of JMET. Candidates are advised to apply separately to the institutes of their interest. Candidates are required to have the scanned copies of photograph and signature in .jpeg format. Size of both the photograph and signature should be less than 150 kb. Reserved category candidates are required to upload PDF file of their category certificates. Fee payments can be done in two modes. Candidates can download the fee payment Challan from the official website of JMET after submitting the online application. Payment can be done by this Challan in any of the branches of ICICI bank or else online payment can be done through Credit/ debit cards. Admit cards will be sent to the candidates by speed post.

Results and Score

JMET results will be announced after a month of the examination. Successful candidates will receive JMET score cards. The score card is valid for one year.
