Profile:

The Rubber Board was established under the Government of India as a statutory body. The board was established under the Rubber Act 1947 with an objective of providing overall development of the rubber industry in the country. Cultivation of natural rubber in a commercial manner was first introduced in the country by the British. And the first commercial Hevea plantations in the country were established in the year 1902. Later the main influence was shifted towards producing the maximum rubber required for the use during the second world war.
