Major application of Rubber Technology Course

The transformation of Natural Rubber or Latex into different Rubber products or forms and the technology associated with this development is known as Rubber Technology. The course of Rubber technology also deals with various types of Rubbers and their properties. There are various methods involved in the processing of Rubber. They are vulcanization, mastication and calendaring. Crude Rubber is formed into various desirable shapes and sizes once it undergoes these procedures.

We also see that the automobile industry is becoming much bigger in size by each passing day as more and more people use vehicles. Tyres are required for vehicles and so Rubber is required. We find that Rubber is also used in many industries, nowadays. So, we can say that Rubber technology is fast emerging as a career option.

  • Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi

The Bachelor of engineering program is of 4 years duration. For admission into the M.Tech programs, a candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Rubber technology or allied sciences along with a valid GATE score.

Application of Rubber technology course

The Rubber technology course helps in creating professionals for this field. As we can see that there are many Rubber processing units in the country. But very few people are aware of it and Rubber technology as a career option. Rubber technologists are in demand nowadays because of growth in rubber based products.

There are many Rubber based companies in India. Some of the tyre companies who use rubber are MRF, CEAT and J K tyres. Rubber is also an important part of various other industries as well. Like semiconductor industry and raincoat manufacturing companies such as Duckback. Rubber is also used extensively in manufacturing companies as well.
