An entrance test called Kerala B.Pharm Lateral Entry Entrance Exam is conducted by Commissioner of Entrance examination for the admission into the second year B.Pharm courses through the lateral entry scheme. The exam is conducted for the admission process for various B.Pharm colleges in Kerala. This exam is approved by Directorate of Medical Education of Kerala Government. This exam provides an opportunity to many interested candidates for obtaining a degree in pharmacy.

Structure of Kerala B.Pharm Lateral Entry Entrance Exam

The candidates have to qualify the written entrance test for getting admission for the B.Pharm courses. The written test consists of one paper of multiple choice questions. The test includes 100 questions and the time duration of the test will be of two hours. The exam consists of questions from the syllabus of the D.Pharm course studied by the candidates. Four choices of answers are given for each question and the candidates have to find the most appropriate answer among them and mark it in the OMR answer sheet. Four marks are given for the correct answers and one mark is reduced for the wrong answers.

Syllabus of Kerala B.Pharm Lateral Entry Entrance Exam

The entrance exam consists of questions from the subjects in the D.Pharm course curriculum. The questions are expected from the following topics.

  • Section 1: Pharmaceutics (25 Questions)
  • Section 2: Pharmaceutical Chemistry (25 Questions)
  • Section 3: Pharmacology (25 Questions)
  • Section 4: Pharmacognosy (25 Questions)

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who have completed the Diploma in Pharmacy from any institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India are eligible for applying the entrance exam. The candidates should pass the diploma examination with 50% marks conducted by State Board of D.Pharm Examinations. The candidate must be a resident of Kerala. The final year BHMS candidates can also apply for the test. The Candidates must have at least 17 years of age.

How to Apply?

The application form and the information booklet are available from the Official Website of Commissioner of Entrance Examination www.cee-kerala.org. The cost of the application fee is Rs.300/- for the general candidates and Rs.150/- for the reserved category candidates. Candidates can use the application form downloaded from the website cee-keral.org. The applicants can download the application form from the website and can use it.

How to fill the Form?

The form should be filled by following all the details in the website for filing the form. The candidates have to enclose all required documents along with the application form. The mark list of the qualifying exam, SSLC certificate copy, nativity certificate, Pharmacy Council registration certificate etc. should be enclosed with the form. The demand draft taken from any nationalized bank in the name of Commissioner of Entrance Examination will be forwarded with the application form. The filled form should be send to the office before the prescribed date. The form should be send in Speed Post or Registered Post only.

Study Plan

The study plan developed by the candidates must be a Realistic one. Then only they can follow it. Spend at least two months for the preparation of the exam. Try to cover all the topics within the time limit. Refer various text books for the exam. Prepare notes from the text books. It helps the candidates to understand the topics more easily. The candidates have to select a study time which is most appropriate for them. The candidates can use the support of the coaching centres for the exam. The candidates can conduct mock tests for assessing the depth of awareness of the candidates. Give more time for practicing the questions from the difficult portions. Score Validity

The score of the exam is valid for three months from the time of publishing the result of the exam.
