Lasya College of Music & Dance was established in the year 1994 under the Act of Kerala Government and the college is affiliated to Indira Kala Sangit University, which is the only university for visual arts, music and dance in the whole part of South East Asia.

Lasya College is offering graduation and diploma courses both at regular stream and at private stream and diploma courses are conducted as full-time and part-time courses. So, working personnel can also join these courses. Certificate courses are offered to NRI and foreign students and students who are already studying those subjects. For B.A courses offered by the college, subjects like environmental studies, Hindi, English and English literature are compulsory. Apart from the above-mentioned courses, the college is also offering a foundation course for B.A and students who have completed their S.S.L.C examination can join the foundation course. On successful completion of the foundation course, they will be allowed to join B.A course.
