Allahabad University conducts entrance test for the Law aspirants known as the “Law Admission Test” every year. This test is conducted to admit eligible students to the first year of LL.B Degree course.

Structure of LAT

Language Comprehension

There will be a total of 100 questions where each correct answer carries one mark. For every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be reduced. This section consists of 80 questions from English language and 20 questions from Hindi language. It aims in testing the candidate’s language skills both in English and Hindi.

General Awareness and Current Affairs

It contains a total of 100 questions. Each question carries one mark. 1/3 of the marks will be deduced for every wrong answer. These types of questions help in determining the depth of the knowledge of candidate in general awareness.

Reasoning, Mental Ability and Legal Aptitude

This section consists of 50 questions where each question carries two marks. The questions are designed in such a way to test the candidate’s mental ability, legal aptitude as well as reasoning power. If the candidate makes a wrong choice then 2/3 marks will be reduced.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to get an admission to the law course, the candidate must have a pass in the 12th board examination conducted by either the state or central boards. The candidate should possess an aggregate of 45% in the written examination which includes all the three sections of the examination paper. The aspirant is ineligible for admission to the law courses if he/she doesn’t score the specified minimum requirements in the law admission test conducted by the Allahabad University. Candidates those who hold a degree from any of the foreign Universities are not eligible for the test.

How to Apply?

For the application process the candidate can contact the University directly in the given address. The prospectus and the application forms can be obtained from the State Bank of India of Allahabad branch. It can be obtained by making a payment of Rs 600/-. SC/ST candidates need to pay only an amount of Rs 300/-. The candidates can also submit the application forms online. For this, they have to login to the given website address of the Allahabad University.

How to fill the form?

The filled up application forms must be submitted by hand at the faculty of Law. The candidates those who are applying online can submit the application forms after filling it completely. Candidates are advised to collect the admit cards online.

Study Plan

The Law Admission tests are organized in various parts of the country to enable the eligible students to the different programmes that are offered in the field of Law. This test is carried out to test the ability of the candidate in the relevant field. The topics included for this examination are constitution and political system, analytical reasoning, Legal studies, general awareness and mathematical problems. The law aspirants should meet the minimum requirements.

The candidates have to figure out an efficient study plan. Once they have created the study plan, they have to stick to the plans established so as to achieve success in the examination. The study plan should be created in a stress less way. Keep all these things in mind while preparing for the examinations.
