Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission was established in the year 1956 and it came into existence on the 1st of November. Before the establishment of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, there were two public service commissions in the names of Hyderabad Public Service Commission and Madras Public Service Commission. The commission was formed after the bifurcation of composite Madras State into Madras and Andhra states.

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has invited applications online applications in prescribed format from eligible candidates for the position of lecturer in different branches of engineering to work for Government Polytechnic Colleges  in AP Technical Education Service and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the commission in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Lecturer in different branches of engineering

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 76, which is divided among the different branches of engineering as follows:

Civil Engineering – 11

Mechanical Engineering – 03

Electronics & Communication Engineering – 16

Computer Engineering – 19

Electrical & Electronics Engineering – 09

Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering – 05

Automobile Engineering – 05

Metallurgical Engineering – 03

Mining Engineering – 01

Biomedical Engineering - 04

Pay scale: Candidates will be coming under the pay of Rs.8000-13500, which is AICTE scales (50% of DA in merged scales is applicable).

Eligibility requirements:

Education: Candidates to apply for the position of lecturer, must possess a first class UG degree in appropriate branches of Engineering or technology accordingly recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education or its equivalent qualification.

Mode of Selection:

The process of selection will include two successive stages namely objective type written test and oral test in the form of interview for selected candidates. Final selection will be made based on the marks secured in both these tests.

Application fee:

All candidates will have to pay Rs.100 towards application processing fee and candidates exempted from payment of fee will also have to pay Rs.120 towards examination fee. Fee should be paid through AP Online centers or SBI and after payment of fee, candidates will have to obtain fee paid challan with journal number, which should be filled on online application. Fee should be paid before 1st of February 2012.
