Magadh University was established in the year 1962 as a recognized university. The university is recognized by University Grants Commission. The university is located in the state of Bihar. It has a rural campus with a noise free atmosphere for the students. Professor Arvind Pandey is the Vice Chancellor of the university. The university is now governed by Bihar State University Act 1976. The university provides various courses to the students in the faculties of Science, Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce. The university at present have 24 post graduate departments and 85 affiliated colleges.
