Dr. Harisingh Gour University was previously called as Saugar University and this university was established in the year 1946 with its previous name. The university is one of the biggest and oldest universities in the state of Madhya Pradesh and it is offering education through 36 teaching departments functioning in its campus, 81 affiliated college spread over six districts in the state of Madhya Pradesh under 10 different faculties of education. The faculties functioning under the university are mathematics & Physical sciences, commerce & management, languages, chemical sciences, applied sciences, humanities & Social sciences, engineering & technology and arts, education & information sciences.
