Malyagiri Mahavidyalaya is an intermediate and degree college established in the year 1979 on the 25th of June. The college is affiliated to Utkal University located at Bhubaneswar for degree courses and it has received recognition from the University Grants Commission for Degree class affiliation and concurrence. The campus of the college is spread over an area of 4.068 hectares of land.

Courses offered:

The College offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science courses under the guidance of Utkal University and higher secondary courses under the arts and science faculties according to the guidelines issued by Orissa Council for Higher Secondary Education.

Societies functioning in Malyagiri Mahavidyalaya:

Different societies are functioning under the college at the higher secondary education and at degree level. The societies functioning under degree level are faculty association, literary society, science society, social service guild, day scholars’ association, dramatic society, athletic club/society, alumni association and pujya puja forum. Of these societies, the final one called as Pujya Puja Forum was founded to observe the death and birth anniversaries of eminent patriots and nationalities of India.

Free Studentship and other types of assistance offered to the students:

So as to help the deserving and poor students, half-free studentship and free studentships are granted by the college. For granting these types of assistance to the students, the college takes poverty-cum-merit as a consideration. A social service guild is functioning under the college to offer financial assistance to the poor students. Apart from this, the college also offers bus travel concession for students travelling from 50 kms away from the college.

Welfare Systems:

In addition to the above-mentioned societies and assistance, some welfare cells like staff council, grievance cell and NAAC Steering committee are also functioning under the college for the welfare of the students and staff members.
