National Eligibility Test abbreviated as NET is the examination conducted by UGC to determine and test the eligibility of student as JRF or Junior Research Fellowship and lectureship. Spanish is an optional subject in the language group in the NET examination. The paper determines the grip of candidates on this language.

Qualification for appearing in this exam:

Candidates can only sit for this exam if they are Indian citizen. Minimum educational qualification for the exam is Masters Degree from any recognised University or institution. Candidates awaiting their final results can also sit for the exam, but they have to make sure that they will produce their passing certificates at the time of interview. Age limit is only for JRF, i.e. 28 years. There is relaxation of age for SC/ST candidates according to UGC rules and regulations.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

Paper contains only theoretical type questions. There is no negative marking for any wrong answer, so students can attempt all the questions.

Mode of Exam:

Paper is taken as conventional way and answers are to be given on an OMR sheet.

Format:

Paper contains questions which are subjective and these questions are further divided into different sections.

Paper Pattern:

Paper of Spanish III contains 19-26 questions in it and these questions are further divided into 4 sections. The paper pattern can change anytime and order can be shuffled. Questions asked are of short answer type and long answer type. Some questions are also of essay type. Candidates will be provided space with the question paper itself to answer and they have to write their answers within the space provided against each question.

Marking:

A total mark which is allotted to the paper is 200 and questions are of different marks in each section.

Schedule:

Allotted time for the paper is 2 hour and 30 minutes.
