IPS exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and the examination is divided in to three successive stages. The Preliminary Examination and The Main Examination. Interview Eligibility IPS exam: Age should be 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum). SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen are given exemption of 3 to 5 years in maximum age limit. you should be graduate from any recognised university. You should be an indian citizen. You should have minimum 60% aggregate in any recognised university. The final year degree students are also applying for the examination Physical qualification for IPS: Height: For male should be 165cm and female should be 150cm for general category candidates. In the case of under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female. Chest: Minimum male candidates are 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. In the case of female candidates the minimum requirement is 79cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. Eye sight: 6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Near vision for worse eye is J2 and for good eye is J1. IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer you have to appear for the Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having appeared for the final graduation degree exam or passed from any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years age. The upper age is relaxed for OBC category candidate up to 3 years and that for SC/ST/PH category up to 5 years, is eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. There is no requirement of any percentage of marks for application to Civil Service exam. The selection is through three phases:- CSAT- Civil Service Aptitude Test- Preliminary exam which comprises of all objective tupe questions. Civil Service Main Exam. which comprises of all subjective type questions. Personal Interview. There are certain physical fitness criteria for those who is applying for IPS:- Height For male candidate -165cm and for female-150cm for general category and for SC/ST/OBC male the height should be 160cm and for female candidate-145cm. To become an IPS officer you will have write civil service exam.To apply this exam you must have graduate degree from a recognized university. Age should be minimum 21 and maximum 30 for General Category.Age relaxation for non general category.For obc candidate age is 33 year and for sc/st candidate age is 35. Minimum height for men and women is fixed at 165 cm and 150 cm. Chest Girth expandable- Men - 84 cm, Women - 79 cm. |

Answer: IPS is a part of Civil Services, and its exams are conducted by UPSC. Anyone who has completed 21 years of age on 1st August of the year can apply for IPS exam. You can read more information on this from the website of UPSC. Before appearing for Civil Services examinations, it is advisable to build an alternative career for yourself. So, you should for now pay attention to your engineering first and try to develop your personality. You can then later on sit for the IPS officer paper.

here's the detail for IPS exam: **Education Qualification : You must hold a Bachelor's degree of any Recognized University. If you are in the final year of a degree course can also Eligible. **Age limits : You must have attained the age of 21 Yrs and must not Attained the age of 30 Yrs on 1st August,2012. The Upper age limit will be Applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates. Upto a maximum Five Years for Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribes. To become a IPS officer first you satisfy the below eligibility criteria the candidate should be citizen of india. You should complete the graduation from any recognized university. There is no marks criteria is applicable. The candidate final year result waiting are also eligible for this exam. Your age should be between 21 to 30 years. There is upper age relaxation applicable for other categories. 3 years age relaxation for obc category and 5 years age relaxation for sc/st categories. hi friends To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year bu applying and appearing the examination. The eligible candidate aspiring for IPS Civil Service Exam, must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.
