Pondicherry Engineering College is an institution financed by the Government of Pondicherry and the college began its journey in the year 1984. Research:

Pondicherry Engineering College offers M. Phil and Ph. D courses as well. Under Master of Philosophy course, the institute offers part-time M. Phil in Mathematics and full-time/part-time M. Phil in chemistry and physics. When it comes to Doctor of Philosophy, it offers full-time and part-time by research in subjects like computer science & Engineering, electronics & communication engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemistry, physics and mathematics.

Intake capacity and Eligibility requirements:

Intake capacity of the institution for B. Tech courses is 60 students per year per branch, except for chemical engineering course for which it is 30 students per year. For getting into the Bachelor of Technology course offered by the Pondicherry Engineering College, candidates must have completed their higher secondary in science stream from a recognized institution.

Intake capacity for Master of Science in Material Science & Technology course is 10 students per year and for MCA course is 30 students per year. For M. Tech courses, the minimum intake capacity of the institution is 17 students per year per branch, however, for some branches it is 18 students per year and 25 students per year for some branches. For M. Tech courses, candidates must have completed their B. Tech in appropriate discipline with not less than 55% of marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized institution.

Training and placement cell:

The basic role of training and placement cell in the Pondicherry Engineering College is to secure placements for students passing out of the college. A good number of establishments visit the college every year for conducting campus interviews and the cell extends all facilities for conducting interviews, tests and group discussions.
