National Physical Laboratory was incorporated on January 4, 1947 under the Government of India. The headquarter of the laboratory is located at New Delhi. The laboratory is famous for being one of the oldest laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Dr. Vikram Kumar is the Director of the laboratory. The major function of the laboratory is to calibrates the national standards of weights and measures. The laboratory is considered as a renowned measurement standards laboratory present in India. Council of Scientific and Industrial Research is the parent agency of the laboratory.

Job Profile:

National Physical Laboratory is making recruitment of qualified candidates on the following positions of Project Assistant Level-III, Project Assistant Level-II, Project Assistant Level-IV, Research Associate and Research Intern purely on temporary and contractual basis. Candidates will be enrolled under the various externally funded and time targeted sponsored projects.

1. Recruitment of Project Assistant Level-II:
No. of posts: Only 6 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 28 years as on 9 August 2011.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in the concerned discipline with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000 per month.

2. Recruitment of Project Assistant Level-III:
No. of posts: Only 8 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 32 years as on 9 August 2011.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in the concerned discipline with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 14000 per month.

3. Recruitment of Project Assistant Level-IV:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 35 years as on 9 August 2011.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics/Electronics/Materials/Nano Materials/Composites from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 22000 per month.

4. Recruitment of Research Associate:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 35 years as on 9 August 2011.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics or Radio Tech or Radio Physics or Meterology or Atmospheric Science from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 22000 per month.

5. Recruitment of Research Intern:
No. of posts: Only 5 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 25 years as on 9 August 2011.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 15000 per month.
