Paper Description:

The Electronics Devices and Circuits is based on the devices which generally includes electronics circuits. This paper gives the knowledge about dipolar biasing and circuits like MOSFET, BJT and JFET. There is also some information about forward and reverse bias, pin diodes etc.

Paper Pattern:

The complete questions of the ECE-3rd Sem-Electronic Devices and Circuits (EC-201) Papers are distributed in three different groups A, B and C respectively. All the three groups in this paper hold equal marks. The first group is compulsory to all the candidates and it includes a maximum of ten questions. Each question carries two marks. The second group holds a total of twenty marks and each question is of five marks. One should have to attempt atleast four questions from this group. The last group deals with a total of three questions out of which one should have to attempt only two questions.

There are very few questions that are repeated almost every year from the Electronic Devices and Circuits (EC-201) Paper. They are junction gate field-effect transistor (JFET), Bipolar Junction Transistor, behavior of p-n junction, advantages of +ve and –ve feedback amplifiers etc. From the syllabus of this paper, there are few topics which are very necessary to cover are problems related with h-parameter, different junction capacitance, multistage amplifiers etc.

Full Marks and Time Allotted:

The full marks allotted against the 3rd Sem-Electronic Devices and Circuits (EC-201) Papers are 60 and the total time span allotted to each appearing candidates is three hours.
