Recruitment process
Microsoft Corporation conducts campus recruitments every year. Candidates are required to register their resumes in the official website. In addition to campus recruitment, the firm takes part in job fairs such as Techfests. The organization conducts recruitment test measuring the talent as well as subject knowledge of the candidates. Tests are conducted in online mode or offline mode. The candidate can expect questions from topics such as structures, databases and algorithms and computer languages such as C & C++ programming.
Written test contains questions to check English language, Mental Ability, Aptitude ability, and Programming ability. English section contains 25 questions within a time limit of 20 minutes. Mental Ability contains related to logical reasoning. There will be 25 questions which have to be answered in 30 minutes. Aptitude section consist questions from bank P.O and UPSC exams. Candidates can expect questions from data sufficiency, data interpretation etc. It contains 20 questions with time duration of 20 minutes.
Programming section comprises of questions to check the programming ability of the candidate. This section is considered as the toughest part of the test. It includes 40 questions that have to be completed in 30 minutes.
Recruitment is focused not on the candidates’ degree but on their deep interest in computer science and good aptitude as well as passion for technology. Candidates who qualify the written test will have to attend personal interview. There will be 2 to 3 rounds of interviews. The interviews are aimed to check the practical knowledge of the candidate and not the text book stuff.
The organization conducts special programmes known as Leap Engineering Acceleration Programme (LEAP) for fresher candidates. Selected fresher candidates are put through this programme where they are given small projects to perform. The programme lasts for six months. Candidates will be recruited based on their performance in the six months programme.
Interviews
Microsoft Corporation gives more importance to interviews than written test. It is designed to check the knowledge of the candidate about the basics of computer science. Candidates can expect questions checking the logical and mental ability apart from academics.
